People online, but don't take their turn

I was browsing a player's profile that I was playing several turn-by-turn games against.

I had been waiting for this person to go, so that I (and others) could then make our turns.

The profile stated "Last seen A few seconds ago" And it showed he was playing a real-time game.

A short while later, I see no turns had been taken, and he was no longer online.

A day later, I see the same thing with another person, online, but not taking their turns.

Why would someone not take their turns and leave the other players waiting? I understand they can take the time allotted to make their turn, but the games I'm playing are not super intellectual games. It would take just a few minutes (at most) to hit each table and make their moves.

Am I wrong in thinking that this would be simple courtesy?

There are a lot of things to do while you are connected to BGA. These are some of mine:
- Playing realtime
- Chatting with friends
- Reading or writing in the forums
- Watching a replay
- Watching a tutorial
- Reading rules
- Translating or correcting texts
- Writing a bug report or a suggestion report

While I am doing this, I don't want to interrupt this by playing a turn in a turn-based game. I think it is my free choice which of these things have my priority. And beyond, it's not just this one turn. If we both are online (in a 2 player game), wouldn't you expect me to continue the gameplay?

Thus I don't consider it being a question of courtesy to play or not to play. As long as players keep the time limit, they are free to choose what to do.
