Stations bugged or playing them wrong?

Hi,

I had a Destination card for Smolensk to Rostov but didn’t have control of one section of track (Smolensk to Moskva). I had control of the rest of the track from Moskva to Rostov.

So, I placed a station on Moskva thinking that would open the line to Smolensk but it didn’t complete the Destination card. I then placed a station at Smolensk thinking that must be the necessary location however that also didn’t compete the Destination.

Am I playing stations incorrectly or are they bugged?

The best way to use station is computed at the end, so the ticket doesn't show as complete until the end.
But what you need is an opponent having the route you want to use (if empty, it won't work).

Still did not grt it at the end - route was built and station was set.

We´ve had a same problem - not sure if we are playing stations wrong but it did not allow us to finish the ticket (use the other player´s route)

Just encountered this. When I placed the station it di NOT complete the ticket but at the end it gave me credit for it.

I also found a problem with stations...or maybe I didn't understand how use it.

Please see the screenshot below (I'm the green player): I had a destination ticket from Brest to Petrograd, I placed a station in Frankfurt and another station in Kobenhavn, but the path was not marked as completed.
Similarly for the destination card from Marseille to Essen.
Am I wrong?

You are playing them correct and like all digital implementations it does not show such tickets until as being complete until the game end scoring when the checks are done.

As an aside, something to remember, especially for the less experienced, stations can only be placed at locations where an exisiting piece of track has been claimed. The selection of which single track from that location you would use and benefit from will be done during end game scoring with the track selection applying for all your personal tickets.

That is working as intended because (same as when playing IRL), stations are taken in account only at the end of the game because in some cases they could serve different routes, but you only can choose one when computing points

Thanks for all the replies. I will play some more games and see how I get on as perhaps I missed something; I was just surprised not to get credit for the route even though I placed a station at each end of an opponent controlled section.

Great fun game though, I am hooked!
