Don't get were I'm wrong

Post by LordMartyy »

Hi,
I played the puzzle number 10 on the original game (not on bga), and I did not find the right answer.
5 verifiers, but my problem lies with two of them. Blue compared to Purple, and the number of 1. (The other verifiers are "blue compared to 3, parity of yellow, and which colour is the highest)
I know there can't be three 1 (one couloir, yellow, is higher than the others). Can't be two 1 because blue would be equal to Purple (yellow is the highest). Then I thought blue could not be equal to Purple, because then there would be no 1.
The final solution is 242, so I don't understand where I'm wrong...
Thanks for your help !

Blue=Purple does not by itself imply that there is no 1. You still need the other verifier to tell you that.

A verifier is redundant if you can remove it without changing the possible solutions. In this case, removing that number of 1s verifier when Blue=Purple would mean that 141 is now possible, so it is not redundant.
