Don't know if this counts as a variation that can't be done without the gamemaker's consent, but if it is something BGA can do it would be neat to have the ability to host "best of x" matches, where the players play until someone wins the majority of x games (so in a best of 5, the match ends if someone wins 3 games). Even numbers might not be a bad idea either, with a tie if the players get equal wins (or even a system where players play until 2 games ahead). The even game count could be useful for games with a major "first player wins" kind of issue, allowing equal chances going first and second. Rating exchanges are for the full match, so a player that wins a match cannot lose rating even if they would for the individual game score.
Not sure offhand how scoring the match would go, maybe a match is worth the rating of whatever the majority is valued at. Also not sure if it would be best to score more for the match record, if winning 2-0 is scored higher than 2-1, etc. or if it should just be a score for winning/losing the match, which is probably simpler.
