It’s an understood practice in the competitive TM scene, where everyone does two actions all the time. Bc if everyone does so, games go way faster and everyone keeps the same tempo. In the case of someone broke the understanding, you one action back till they resuming two actions again. Selling one card counts as an action.

Re: Two actions mostly all the time please
This is the most ridiculous request ever.
This is like telling a person who is playing Spades. “It is understood that you always play a red suit first.”
There is a reason why you get 1 or 2 actions.

Playing one action only, even if you could play two, can be a strategic move. It's part of the game.
House rules are fine if you're playing with people you know, but establishing/enforcing them here with random strangers is unlikely to work - see the tiring debate about the "friendly robber" over at Catan.

While I disagree with the Topic I would have wished that selling cards would't count as action at all. Makes especially last turn often last too long because people ping pong selling 1 card.
Re: Two actions mostly all the time please
i play 2 actions most of the time but when i draw a card that counts opponent symbols, i won't.
which is giving away some info, but i don't want to win as much as i want to fasten the game so it's fine.
my point is : sometimes playing one action is fine (and mostly when you try to understand if the game is gonna end or not)

Re: Two actions mostly all the time please
That's what all new players says in the beginning. But if you take a moment or play more games, you will realize it's all the same if everyone does two actions. If anyone needed to one action, you simply one action back. Selling one card counts as an action, so if it's agreed, you can always force two actions per turn. It's a general practice in the top TM competitive scene btw.
It's part of the tempo, especially with corp era on.

Re: Two actions mostly all the time please
RoyalRook is mostly correct. There are of course some situations where taking a single action is preferable for strategic reasons.
But quite regularly I see people taking single actions in the entirety of gen6 and 7, leading to the other players also taking single actions. In those scenario's no advantage is gained, unless the other players just plow on with double actions of course. If all players match the single action tempo, nothing changes except the duration of the game. It's a bit of a logical fallacy.

I agree here, heroku used to have "must always use 2 actions" game option, it is great for speeding up the game. Would love to see it as an option.
I understand what RoyalRook is saying, if playing against good opponent taking one action makes no sense as your opponent can also just take one action and you gain nothing just slow down the game (you don't get tempo, ie, if you are waiting for them to use their heat or something). But the fact is that many people here do not do so, so taking 1 action is usually beneficial as you do gain tempo if opponent double-actions.

Re: Two actions mostly all the time please
Generally I agree with the OP. Assuming both players know what they are doing it is not very common that one action changes anything and even if it does it is usually a very minor difference, Time cost of such gameplay is not proportional to the strategical benifits of it. Remember I am not saying one action is useless, because it is obviously better to one action most of the time if you opponent is going to double action. But competenet player won't and you will only gain advantage if your opponent has to race to sth with 3rd player and stall with you at the same time. Because it is rather common knowledge among the most experienced players, usually it's polite to not stall by selling card 1 by 1 if your opponent has much larger hand or plenty of actions on cards. I think it would be best if they included a house rule for playing only double actions if possible as an option.

It doesn't slow done the game at all. The act of clicking the action takes the same amount of time.
Stalling if the other one has clearly more actions makes no sense but there are still the cases where it does mae.
People just need to play fast enough no matter what.
