undo

Post by apaksl »

Why no undo? the UI is so bad here, I'm constantly clicking the wrong thing. If the game state isn't changed, why can't there be an undo?

You can enable confirmation buttons in your game preferences! Undo is very complex to implement in this game and it won't happen any time soon (or ever)

Each game has to implement their own version of undo, since it is quite dependent on the game. The innovation implementation wasn't designed with undo in mind, so it will be quite difficult to properly implement. I may get to it eventually, but the confirmation buttons provide a reasonable workaround for now.

The amount of games I have lost because of no undo.... :( I wish it was able to be implemented easier.

ADD UNDO!

As long as there wasn't a card drawn or opponent action, UNDO should be very possible, like in other games on BGA. I am so tired of trying to take turns a bit too quickly and not reading that I am for instance picking a card to score rather than meld, for instance.

Why isn't UNDO implemented yet?

I love that there is no undo. It forces me to be careful. Frankly that's a skill we should all work on.

Support of undoes is labelled a good practice for BGA devs.
This game sorely needs it.

Of course, like for many other games, you cannot be allowed to undo past a point that reveals hidden information or past most points where an opponent can react.

In all likely-hood, you would not be allowed to undo past any opponent decision (like an opponent deciding not to share when he could have) but, ideally, you would be allowed to undo if it is clear from the start that the opponent cannot actively share your dogma (like they can technically share because they have more leaves than you but cannot really do so because they have no card in hand or no color to splay)

In many games allowing undoes, there is a warning (sometimes behind a player option) if you are about to do an action that cannot be (fully) undone.
