Artemis vs Persephone

Curious about this matchup that I played today. Artemis versus Persephone. Is this programmed correctly? I can understand that I (playing Artemis) must move up when I can. But if I am on level one and I can jump down to ground then move back up to level one somewhere else then I "must"? That seems like an impossible situation. Opinions on if this programmed incorrectly here? My opinion is that I shouldn't have to move down then up. If I am already at one then up would only be somewhere that I have to move to level two.

Well I'll give you that it's not intuitive. So you want "must move up" to only consider if you can end at a higher level than you started? (Exclude down-then-back-up movements)

Thanks for the response. I know I could be wrong. But it seems like there isn't a way for Artemis to win. I am by far not the expert. But I don't see a way for Artemis to do anything if it supposed to be played this way. Thanks again.

I don't think this is a bug. The descriptions in Santorini are always pretty literal. When it says "you must move up, if possible", that really means you need to consider all legitimate possibilies. And moving up means the action of "making a step from a lower level to a higher level". It does NOT mean you end up with a higher level than turn start -- although it is usually the case if you can only move once a turn. Note that comparing the turn-end and turn-start situations is not necessarily "a move".

Similarly, another example that may help you understand this, is Hades's power. Consider Artemis vs. Hades -- you will not be able to move down for all actions, including moving down and up so that you end up with the same level as the start of turn.
