How to Un-Guru?

Post by Dr Wilson »

The system made me Guru of Amiytis for some reasons I do not comprehend. Neither am I good in this game, nor do I presume to have deep knowledge of the rules. Is there a way for me to Un-Guru myself?
"It doesnt hurt" you might think, but I receive posts I dont need and maybe I swallow the place of someone more useful for this task.

Guru means you play the game a lot. If you play less you'll get removed. Otherwise, just ignore it. You're not obligated to nominate or endorse any changes to arena.

Depending on the game, "a lot" may mean "just once, ever" :D

To answer the question: there's no way. Just don't play the game and your guru status will be rescinded eventually (something like 30 days?).

Ich bin bei mehreren Spielen Guru. Ich spiele nur echtzeit. Deshalb weiß ich nicht wie ich euch für den Arena Modus helfen kann. Wenn es was gibt laßt es mich wissen. Ich helfe euch gerne.

Just wait a while and you'll be un-guru-ed if there are enough players for the specific game. New gurus are selected regularly (I think every arena season?). That was what I found out on the guru forum when I became a guru, despite never playing arena.
Still I think it is weird that they insist on picking players to be gurus that don't play arena games.

Yep. I became a "Twin Tin Bots" guru after one rated game.

I think the reasoning for this has to do with if the current settings are unpopular with a majority of players (ie. more games are being played outside Arena than in it), then they can be changed for the next Arena season. There have been seasons of certain games where I dislike the options and I won't play Arena that season - if gurus were only selected from among Arena players, then options may never get changed.
