If I set to "Custom" and "Alternate Maps", can players pick either original or alternate?

If I set to "Custom" and "Alternate Maps", can players pick either original or alternate?

Or can they only pick from one of the alternate maps? I want to make a game where I can play an original map, but opponents can play alternate maps if they wish.
