Can arena options be set up to reflect the WSBG rules just announced?
Fill to 5 players (ai if needed)
No weather
Include garage module

Most of these are already possible. The draft is already asked for, hopefully it will be here at some point, but given they've got to programme it after being the given green light, I wouldn't expect it imminently.
The rest of the stuff is so vague, that I don't even know what it means when they refer to actions that cannot be legally resolved. I mean technically you can't even taken an action on BGA that can't be legally resolved in the first place, but it depends what they're referring to.

My request was meant to make the settings I posted the arena defaults to mimic the wsbg as possible. That is possible now. Not exact, but makes competitive play and rankings similar to wsbg

They give the example of shifting too many gears (2 without having heat), so I guess you could throw in, shifting 3 gears, playing 5 cards, playing wrong cards for the gear etc - which BGA stops you from doing.
Not sure why they'd get rid of the weather though - any ideas?

I think that perhaps setting WSBG's rules as an option in play mode would be interesting, but I don't see why Arena, specifically, should be using those exact settings.

I don't care about the WSBG as such but we need a more fair draft system (as an option) and the one listed there is ok.

The designer has approved that draft for use on BGA and a request has been put in to BGA for use as an option.

It's not possible, because the big difference, ie. the draft is not implemented on BGA. When/if it's implemented, it's pretty much certain to win the vote for the next Arena season, but we can't vote for something that doesn't exist, and given next Arena season begins in a week, it's not possible to put it up for a vote for next Arena season, so the only chance of it happening on Arena anytime soon is if both this draft gets implemented on BGA, and they are willing to change Arena mid-season like they did for Pro Legends and Aggressive Legends, but I don't know how likely that is.
I would also strongly resist any move to disable weather, as to me that's just making the gameplay worse and less competitive.

That's kind of my interpretation of what they mean too, but if I was playing (I'm not) I would want clarification under what rules they are playing "can't pay a heat" under, because technically it's not an illegal play, it's in the rulebook, but then they are inventing penalties/rules that aren't in the rulebook too.
The only reason I can think of they are not playing with weather is they deem to it too fiddly to set the exact same weather for each table. I don't like it, removing weather is making the game less skill-based and more luck-based, giving less opportunity to make moves, and making it even harder to beat someone who got stacked from the draft. Which is why I would never support it for Arena, and seems a strange choice for a competitive event.

Well, the problem of not being able to pay the heat of played cards already has an history here and the issue was reported to the designers by the devs who implemented the choice made them even though it might not have been exactly what many competitive minded people would have preferred (including me).
Many if not all of the real issues related to not being able to pay for cards are related to weather and road conditions tokens.
Without the weather module, you know in advance whether you will be able to pay for the cards you play or not which makes ruling on them easy.
( But with road conditions, you might be unable to go past the corner because of a road being blocked and because of that you remain in a "no cooling" zone and so you cannot pay for some cards but if they get replaced by a +, maybe you will after all end up in the next zone creating a loop that has to be broken in some manner or another)
The rules of the games, such as written (at least in the first edition) really talk about the issue as if they were inadvertent mistakes to be handled in a friendly manner and without taking into account the intricate scenarios that can happen with road conditions.
See the other threads for details...
I guess I will have a look at what WSBG says about that not being able to pay the heat of played cards but if their solutions creates a loop in some rare situations implying road condition tokens then it cannot be applied to BGA or at least not when playing with the weather module.

Example i think would be turbo 8 maybe. On BGA you can convert it to a stress if you play it but can play the heat. Over there probably would end in an illegal move and you skip your turn.
No Weather maybe to easy setup for overall, but as said by other yeah, Weather and garage makes the game (more) fun.
