Was not prompted to choose Royal card after 9th crown taken.

Post by paullywood »

I'm unsure where my math went wrong in game #540640209, where I won with 11 Crowns. When I took my 9th Crown card, I wasn't prompted to choose a Royal Card. Since a Royal Card is given after every 3 Crown cards, and there were still Royal Cards available, shouldn't I have received the last Royal Card at 9 Crowns? My opponent had 1 Royal Card, and I already had 2, leaving 1 still available, which I eventually received on my last move. I'm confused and not sure what I'm missing. It's probably something obvious.
Edit to correct-, I just watched again and when I took my 9th Crown my opponent had not yet received his 1st Royal Card. Also I was not prompted to take the last royal card even after getting 11 Crowns.

Because you only get royal cards at 3 and 6 crowns, that's the rule ;)

I knew it was something obvious. I must of missed that part in the rule book. I was mistaken and thought it was for every 3 Crowns you received 1 Royal. Thank you for clarification. Now I get to tell my friends that play I was playing it wrong and they can poke fun at me for "changing the rules as we go." LOL.
