I've recently found that Carcassone is on BGA and as a longtime casual player who likes to get competitive I have some questions for the more seasoned competitors
1. What is the most common setting for tournaments?
2. Playing competitively, which settings do you prefer?
3. Playing casually, which settings do you prefer?
4. I see that there is a field scoring option where "every field gets 3 points for each completed city". Does this mean regardless of how many meeples are on a particular field, whoever's there scores the same amount of points for that field?
For (3), I asked because I own a LOT of expansions irl (think Bridges, Bazaars, Mayor, Catapult, Tower, and the whole 10+ mini expansions) because collecting and I don't use them anymore due to information overload (I like to think through every little thing when I play, plus setup/takedown was a chore). So these days I do Inns/Cathedrals, Traders/Builders, and Princess/Dragon at most, and I never go without Inns/Cathedrals unless I'm teaching a beginner. Wondering if anyone else has a similar opinion.
Thanks in advance.
