Multiplayer tournaments - thanks for clarifying

Post by danielvictor »

Hi.Thanks for warning people where they are signing up to play 8 2-player matches simultaneously ! Maybe in some of the more complex games you could dial that back a bit ?

Unfortunately, that's the way round robins tournaments are implemented. The tournament organizer doesn't get to choose it, unless they happen to know about and use an unpublished work-around that people have had mixed success getting to work.

And agreed that there should be a warning at least. If you like the concept of round robin, maybe try Swiss tournaments instead. Those by definition can only be played one game at a time because the pairings for the next round depend on the results of the current round.

Thanks.I do play Swiss. It's only that I get an invitation to a tournament of a game that I lke,so my initial reaction is to accept- only then it warns me that I'd be playing eight games simultaneously,so I think 'that's a bit too heavy for me - pity,I could maybe manage four :D
