Why this game is so slow in real time fast paced?

Post by Tom Q »

Fast paced Framework is +0:19 per turn (maximum 1:57). Nova Luna is +0:31 per turn (maximum 2:33), but seems to be more complicated. Fast paced Sagani is +0:42 per turn (maximum 3:00). Why so long if those 3 games have very similar complexity and playing time? Shouldn't it be all comparable?
I never feel bored while playing Framework, but Sagami could drag a lot becase of this. I know that some people need time to play that sort of games, but others, like me, prefer fast games, and for them 3 minutes for a decision in a game of BGG complexity less than 2, is definitely too much.

From all the versions os this same game my favorite is HABITATS
That one is the fastest from all! In real time is super fast, very clear and less "abstract", I think that helps
Nova Luna is ok, but the way you take the tiles may slow the game a little bit, and you have to wait for players to end their eternal turn if they're the last in queue.

Framework and Sagani are my least favs, Framework just don't connects because of the theme and Sagani, well, I think is the wors implementation of the same game.

Average (online) game length according to the BGA stats:
SAGANI 21 minutes
NOVA LUNA 14 minutes
FRAMEWORK 12 minutes
HABITATS 16 minutes (will soon launch at BGA, 16 minutes in beta-phase which often is higher than the final phase?)
It depends much on number of turns (HABITATS has the most turns?) and how it's programmed for latops or phonescreens.
