unable to invite people to a private game as premium member

Post by rrrruuunne »

I know this isn't the best place to post it, but I've been unable to invite people to games for more than 10 days now which was the only reason I got premium, and nothing is happening with my bug report.
https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=137419 this is a link to the bug report
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMqS0qnxeHk this is a link to a screen recording
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated

IDK why it's not working, maybe your browser, it works for me. Are you already waiting for some real-time Arena games?
You seem to be permanently stuck in Arena mode, trying switching to Normal mode (Simple game) BEFORE opening a new table.
You can do that here: https://boardgamearena.com/lobby

But a simple enough workaround is this:
just copy and paste the URL in your browser. It will be something like this:

Code: Select all

https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=draftosaurus&table=564761016
That is all that it's doing for you anyway,

Alternatively use the 'friends' links below to add them by name.

Adding friends also doesn't work. They do get an invite, but when they try to join they get an error that they are already on the table. On my screen when I reload they are also in the arena lobby that's permanently waiting, regardless of whether they tried to accept the invite.

I tried switching to simple game like you said, and it worked for Lucky Numbers which I used to test, but then I actually wanted to make a patchwork game the same way and I have the exact same problem again.

I also can't copy paste the browser link, because I'm not in a lobby before I either copy the link the way I did, or invite a friend. I would just be copying a link to the gamepanel of the game.

I just tried a little more and figured out something interesting.

The only games I have this problem with are Patchwork and Ticket To Ride, with those games I have the problem I screenrecorded.
Any other game I've tried I can make a lobby the normal way.

Really weird

You must be in the arena settings for them games. If you change them to simple game then you should be able to invite friends

No idea what is happening, but certainly seems weird.

I suggest trying the play now button on the classic lobby screen.

The other option is to switch to turn based, if you know who you're playing with, you can just use it as real time anyway, just wouldn't have the same sort e time limit

switching to turn based seems to work yeah. I only make lobbies with people I know so that's a fix for now. Thanks for the suggestion!
