Hi!
I am utterly frustrated by being kicked from the game in the very last round because I have run out of time.
You see, Ark Nova has several cards (like Eagles) that allow you to play extra turns (those cards are typically played during one's final turn to actually trigger the end of the game). As a result, players sometimes run out of time, because they have to play two (sometimes three, very rarely four) turns within the time limit of one turn. In that case time might run out before the player can make all of their actions. Which allows some opponents (behaving in a very non-sportsmanship manner) to kick the player from the game (in the final round no less, after hours of gameplay) just for a couple-second delay.
I propose to add time to players' timers when they get extra turns.
ALSO it would be nice to make it harder to kick players out of games at the late stage of any game. Final turns oftentimes take more time to calculate and are crucial to players. Maybe add more time to timers closer to the end of the game, OR give two or three-minute buffer before allowing to kick the player out of the game, OR kick the player out only if ALL of the opponents agreed to it, OR create a 'Sportsmanship mode' of the game, which could be chosen during the creation of the game that prohibits kicking active players out if they have played ¾ of the game already (this obviously would not apply if the player is offline or AFK).
What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts.
