T'zolkin needs an 'undo' button!

Post by ivan the tolerable »

The ability to hit 'undo' if you accidentally trigger the wrong action would be a very nice addition, if not an absolutely critical one for those of us playing on tablets or similar devices. the game has both a layout with selections very closely packed together and the fact a single choice out of sequence ruins far more than that one action. There likely hasn't been a game played on here yet that didn't have one or more errors by at least one player that affected gameplay for everyone, as one mistaken click in this game can blow entire turns or even whole games instantly. Whomever wins is often simply the one whose mistake was the least critical of everyone's combined errors.

Whether this could be simply a reset of the last action triggered, or even (and probably better) a simple reset of the players turn, either one would go along way toward making the game better and likely would not slow the game at all. possibly the opposite, as the few times 'undo' would be selected during the course of a game, it is by definition preventing a situation where someone would otherwise have to stop and think their way out of a destroyed plan due to an adjacent action to the one they actually intended to hit having been selected.

What do people think of this? It seems to be a pretty common feature in most games, on other sites and here. With this of all games, it seems quite useful.

I agree in every aspect. Especially since most players on BGA expect fast play. Thus, anyone playing quickly can easily misclick.

This would be awesome and I'd like to vote for this. We've just had a couple of really bad clicks in our game.

Any more ideas on this? The game is great but this one aspect makes it virtually unplayable. Especially in multiplayer games, as the odds are VERY high that at least one or more people will be forced completely out of the running before its done.

I agree, it's annoying in many games, but never so much annoying as in Tzolkin. It can destroy everything. I'm using touchpad and that's one of the reasons i'm not playing Tzolkin here, on BGA.

Thats it guys. I am out of here. Just was denied taking my entire last turn in T'zolkin.

What a waste of another hour just to be removed from a close game 30 seconds before it ends. This game is effectively unplayable as it stands, and its not like there are not game sites out there with adequate coding. Any site that both wants money and ignores players requests cannot really be considered a sustainable one.

To be fair, BGA does offer some things; There is a ranking system that to climb to the top encourages people to simply quit every game you might not win! So BGA is good for some people it appears. Just not people that enjoy actually playing games.
