Carcassonne rules clarification

Hi,

In a game of Carcassonne I am playing, one of the other players used a magic portal to transfer his meeple on to my meeple in a city which replaced my meeple. Can someone please advise if this is a legitimate move? He already had another meeple in the city as well.

You might want to ask this question in the Carcassone forum, lots more knowledgeable players there

My two cents: I thought that you could “portal” to unoccupied features only. So taking your meeple away is news to me too.
