A bug? failed to feed from cooperation card.

I have a species with long neck, and added a carnivore species on its right. I also gave the long neck species the cooperation trait, which says when this species takes food, the species on its right gets food from the same source. Long neck got activated, the long neck species got food from it, and the carnivore didn't, even though there's still plenty of food in the watering hole. I don't understand why, unless there's some subtle hard to understand nuance in how these things are worded.

This is one of the odd corner cases in the game. Carnivore makes it so that the species can never get food from plants. This includes taking from the pool, using intelligence to directly take food from the supply, and being fed by a cooperative herbivore taking plants.
