We are starting a new 6 Nimmt! competition on January 5. We will play 3 games each Sunday starting at 8pm UTC. Players must have 200 elo or higher to join.
Each week, I’ll need players to sign-up by Friday if they intend to play that Sunday. We’ll take sign-ups until the last hour before games, but you may not get a spot if you sign up late. We will schedule 12 weeks of play. You may play as many of those weeks as you like.
Table settings for all games will be:
5 players
Tactics/ Pro
Normal speed
Good and above, or strong and above
Each week we will schedule everyone to tables with predetermined opponents, and you will play the same opponents all 3 games that day. On each of your games you will get 1-5 points, according to the position you finish, with a possible 15 points total if you win all 3 games.
For standings, the best 2 weeks out of the previous 3 weeks will be your score. Example: after 3 weeks of play, you have scored 11, 7, 13, Your total score is 24, the week you scored only 7 is ignored. Likewise, scores 4 weeks ago or older are ignored. This way the rankings are more likely to change, and if you miss a week, it wont hurt you so much. Also, it keeps everyone within 2 weeks of being in first place.
Tie scores on a game will result in the points being split evenly. For example, if two players tie for first place, the scores for that game will be 4.5, 4.5, 3, 2, 1, instead of the normal 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Tie scores in the standings will be settled by who did best on the most recent week (or most recent game on the first couple weeks).
Each week you will will have to sign up by Friday to compete in the games on that Sunday.
