'Available Table' Notify for Real Time Players. Eureka!

Post by EllieK »

I've been asking for it for years -- a way to know when a hard-to-fill game that I love playing real-time is opened for real time play. It already exists! When did BGA implement it? I had to accidently find it.

Thank you BGA. It's exactly what was needed. Now when someone opens a Troyes table for real time play, I see little pop up letting me know a real time Troyes table has been created! For the first time in years I actually played Troyes real-time.

Anyone interested in how to activate this feature, my best guess is below.
1. Find the name of the hard-to-fill game in your list of games and click on the name to be taken to the game's home page.
2. If the game is available for auto notify, which is determined by BGA and only exists for what are considered a hard-to-fill games, you will see a greyed out bell icon directly below the 'Real Time' button in the center of the screen.
3. Click the notify bell to be notified when a new table is created.

Can this be communicated as a News item?

Thanks again, BGA. Nicely Done!

It was announced when implemented (see here: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31749) - typically features don't get announced in the news items, as I think they're mostly reserved for newly published games (and more announcements there makes it less obvious when a new game is announced). It was a while ago, but if you're not a regular visitor to the forums, you probably wouldn't have known about it.
