Thank you for the honest appraisal. I didn’t sign up for it when I realised it was global with only 12 hours per player, for a four player game with a max time of 48 hours. No sleep til Kandahar!
I’ve only created a few tournaments but one way to think about it is how many turns does each player need to fit in in their maximum time? This can include for PP2e times when a non-active player has to complete an action such as waiving (or enforcing) a bribe or resolving one or more of the action cards.
Then, work from there on total turns/actions. And factor in, for a global game, the need for sleep against a running clock.
Roughly, a four player game comprises 54 court cards plus 10 event cards. Assuming with each purchase/play as one turn that could be up to 64 turns. Or at least 50 to 55+ turns to get most cards into play. Plus turns with only card actions. Perhaps allow each player 16-20-24 turns.
