Player 1 bishops someone and succeeded.
Player 2 guards player 4 and succeeded.
Player 3 guards player 5 and succeeded.
Player 1 plays constable.
Player 2 guards player 3 and succeeded.
Player 1 jesters player 2.
Player 2 guards player 1 and succeeded.

Round 2:
Player 2, 3, 4, and 5 play some cards.
Player 1 plays constable.
Player 2 guards player 1 and succeeded.

Faster (5 players)

Round 1
Player 1 bishops someone and succeeded.
Player 2 guards player 3 and succeeded.
Player 4 guards player 2 and succeeded.
Player 5 guards player 4 and succeeded.
Player 1 plays constable.
Player 5 plays handmaid.
Player 1 jesters player 2.
Player 5 guards player 1 and succeeded.

Round 2
Player 5 plays handmaid.
Player 1 plays constable.
Player 2 guards player 1 and succeeded.

Only 11 cards are played

EDIT: Alternatively Player 1 in round 2 could bishop someone and succeed, reducing the number of cards played to 10.

I don't understand.

The game is played over a series of round until someone has a specific number of tokens, right?

And each round ends when someone is the last player remaining and gains a token. Is this post specifically asking the shortest 5-player game? If so, wouldn't that take at least 4 rounds?

And a 2-player game would take 7 rounds?
