Dungeon Roll Nonsense

I've played a TON of Dungeon roll. I'm not a great player, just good. After all this game is /mostly/ LUCK. Anyway, this is one of the first dice game I bought (tabletop) when I was teaching my kids about board games. We absolutely love it! So with that said, I figured I would start a thread about "Anything Dungeon Roll".

ARENA: Some of the players are awesome! Love having a quick chat there, though I am often puzzled by the scoring.

VIKING: Who dreamed up this awful hero? I mean, seriously, "champions" are not all that great, they suck at killing dragons (LOL) if all you have are champions : )

REAL-TIME: This is the slowest group of players (mostly) on BGA, no one ever wants to real-time this game. I Wonder what the scoring would be like if there were some quick games always in motion.

GRIPE: Seriously, these treasures should be limited to the real-world game availability. How is it that some games end up with two players holding 5+ Dragon scales each? That is not what is actually available.

Anyway, while I am waiting for games (or losing my current game) it is fun to just post and chat. We can do better than these other n00b pnks playing other modern games, Dungeon Roll is also on the "Free Tier" on BGA, so I cannot fathom why more folks are not playing.

I agree with many of your points. I'm terms of Viking and certain characters we dislike, it's basically an even playing field, like mud in a football game, it affects everyone. Some characters you need to just get a few treasure just to get momentum for the later rounds.

True and just like that, I ended up with the Viking in a game.

The other aspect of this game (while not in the official rules) that I thought would work better would be getting dragon scales only for defeating dragons (and not a random treasure), additionally no dragon scales in treasure boxes. It is something that could work easily online, or if you play the tabletop, simply set the dragon scales aside (face up) out of the treasure box.

I'd also LOVE and LOATHE a new championship season to be just one hero, it could even been that Viking. It would be a blast either way.

Also I do realize that there are no "Good" or "Great" players, (Roll those scrolls!!!) - and that this is mostly a luck game, but I would love for more narrative. It seems like the most simple aspects of this game can be heavily cannon, and entertaining.

Not for nothing, but I rolled 6-Treasures the other day! Granted I still lost LOL, somehow, but wow! I've never had that happen before. I took a screenshot, but it does not look like I can post them here.

Yes I like to get scales in later rounds.

I wish there was an treasure that would give the goblin ability: use it to open treasures and potions before defeating monsters.

YES, that would be great (a treasure with the goblin ability)! You know with the "Hero Expansions" one would think that new treasures would be introduced as well.

There are a couple hero's that say "Can be used as a MAGE or FIGHTER" or "CLERIC or MAGE" etc... However, Lets say I have the use as "MAGE or FIGHTER", I cannot with one MAGE kill all the rolled Goblins and OOzes at the same time, that feels like a complete miss as far as the ability is concerned. I should be able to destroy all of them with ONE Mage/Fighter.

Took a shot at Tournament mode, that was fun, I lost to a good player so all in fun times. The odd thing about the tournament is that is is basically hidden. If you go to the tournament page it says "No Tournaments" which is not true, there is an active one and many completed. To Further complicate it, when you choose "Show all" It is still blank. You have to select "In Progress" to see the running tournament, or just randomly happen to be there when recruiting is taking place for it to show up. Not the best design.

So if you think the tournaments are not active, think again, and try to get in to join one, it is a blast.
