Why have I been blacklisted from Castles of Burgundy?

This is the only game on BGA that I am having this problem with.

Every time I try to start a game, it's removed from the 'waiting room'.
And when I try to join someone else's game, the players in there quit.

I can only assume that someone blacklisted me and then shared that with the whole community.

I have no idea why that happened, other than I'm not a good player yet (ELO of 54).
I have never caused any problems for anyone else, ever.

It really discourages me because I want to get better at this game.
Can anyone help me understand what happened?

Have you tried using the old lobby, where you can manually select a game to join or open a new table? I can see you play turn-based, you could create a new table with your set-up preferences and wait for others to join.
If you are still unable to join/start a game, it might be a bug.

It isn't possible to 'blacklist' a player from a game, and why would anyone do that? The more players, the better!
