Higher ELO and beginner map

Post by iluddy »

Sure someone in here knows. Every match I seem to play my opponent has the beginner map (everything grouped together) and I have a map with everything spread out. Is this a setting that either I or my opponent has? It is a huge disadvantage and they already start the game with a higher ELO.

Thanks for your thoughts.

You have the game set to assign a random map to each player. This is generally better when learning the game; or where there is a big difference in experience. Each map will have disadvantages and advantages in scoring (a small area is easier to fill early and add a round bonus onto it; whereas a larger area offers a ton of points when completed) so I wouldn't worry too much.

Once you're both on equal footing tho I personally find adjusting the setting to the same map makes for a more competitive experience. :)
