Kingmaking and multiple accounts

Post by HAL9oo0 »

It's not enough to block the kingmaker's cheaters, it would be more correct to deepen and ban.

How can you prove that's what is happening?

Check out this game and tell me what you think. * could have easily dumped the queen on * but instead dumped a heart. Then laid the queen on me next play ending the game for 2nd place. Everyone should avoid both these players. Here is the proof...

*Moderation Edit: please do not use the Forums to call out specific tables or players by name, this is what the Moderation Reports are for. The Forums should remain a general discussion.

I think it's quite tricky. I just had a game where I ended up choosing to throw my queen of spades (then single) and knock number 4 out, or risk of having uit myself. I threw the queen and got accused of playing for third in Arena....I have no clue why...maybe I think wrong...but I think sometimes it's not that obvious or straight forward...

Watch out for the same two people with one person starting a game multiple times. It's either the same person or a team because they always know where the Queen is. I've only been on this forum a week and I ran into this situation. I've played Hearts before and I can smell a rat with these particular people.

Prefer not to mention names, at this early point, but will be watching their games.

I agree at some point clear patterns of behavior indicate cheating. At the moment the top Arena winner has played almost all their (winning) games with another player. If you go to replays you can see what was passed when the other player passes to them (bizarre passes like low spades!), there's a game where that other player quits (presumably to avoid a bad outcome), etc. It's either collusion or multiple accounts. It's clear as day. With no way to report, will moderators allow the Arena champion to be a clear cheater?

So, I understood calling out players is against forum rules, so I won't. But I just played a game where it was an obvious teamplay. Eventually I won, but the win was a steal from the fourth player because the team didn't play the Q of spades to the winning player (from the team) when he had the chance.

I do what I'm supposed to, and red thumb, and try to report. The current message is: Best thing to do against kingmaking/teamplay is red thumb, there's no use in reporting.

If I post their player names I will be moderated, but I can't even report them.

As you can see, I'm a long time member, and more than half that time as a paying player. I will reconsider when my membership fee comes up again if this is not dealt with.

Agreed -- we can't call our names here, but there's obvious cheating, and so the only way to have an impact might be by cancelling my membership. I didn't think of that until you said it.
I play Hearts Arena and can't stand that the person in first is cheating literally every game they play in Arena. And when they can't win despite the cheating, they have their other account abandon the game so they don't lose! If there's clear and obvious cheating, why can't the moderators ban the account? (For what it's worth, apparently this same player cheats at King of Tokyo, too.) I don't know what the cheater gets out of it, but it definitely makes the game less fun for the rest of us. Voting with $$ makes sense.

Wow.

The evidence seems overwhelming and indisputable.

Dumb question maybe, but how do the same two players always end up at the same arena table, literally every time? My Arena matchups are random.
