Rules Wording (Anti-Suicide Rule)

Post by Luna Shine »

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the great game and matches! I’m not a native English speaker, but I have a lot of experience with English rules.

Currently, the rule states:
"WARNING: On your turn, you may not cause your own Leader to be captured or surrounded."
This is functionally equivalent to saying, "You can't lose on your turn."

However, based on the BGA version, the intended meaning seems to be:

"On your turn, you can't take an action that will cause your own Leader to be captured or surrounded."

By the way, Nemesis moves on your opponent’s turn. What if my only legal move with him is a suicidal one?

I suppose the win condition is evaluated after each moves. So, you can't go on a captured condition next to the Némesis, as his move will come after your's, even if he will have to leave this position after.
And if you speak about the némesis who comes capture you after, then it's the same as when you make a mistake and don't see your opponent can capture you with any other character.
I'd love to have like a checkmate's rule who prevents you to make any mistakes, but it's impossible to evaluate with all the possible moves. This is part of the game, find like the optimal move each turns, cause every mistakes can be suicidal moves

Actually, you can move your leader next to a Némesis + another ennemy. You can check the FAQ about this: https://www.leadersthegame.com/faq?fbcl ... mTnBjhxtyw

It says:
"Can a Leader be moved while a Nemesis would then participate in its capture or encirclement?

Yes. It does not matter if the Leader is captured or encircled either before or after the Nemesis moves. The Leader MAY move, and the Nemesis MUST subsequently make its move. Only then are the Capture and Encirclement of both leaders checked.
"

To me, if the moving Nemesis makes out leader being captured, it's not directly due to the leader's movement. That means, moving out leader is an action, but the move of the Nemesis is ANOTHER action (which may result in the capture or our leader, even during our turn).

Oh wow wtf, sorry to spread fake rules, I was focused on this segment on the rules : The Capture and Encirclement of both Leaders are checked after each Action or Recruitment of a Character

But you're right, it says Except The Nemesis
I can't believe this rule exist cause he's already such a complex and pretty weak character to play
