REMOVE KARMA

Post by TRANSMASTER »

The concept of Karma is an ineffective and inequitable mechanism that warrants elimination; it is implausible to assume that an individual remains entirely undistracted while engaged in a game.
Should one inadvertently play their turn late on a few occasions and encounter tryhards, they may consider discontinuing their account.
It is preposterous that after two infractions, a player incurs a penalty of 10/20 points in stark contrast to the meager single point granted per completed game; this system is profoundly unjust and disproportionate.
Furthermore, should one's Karma fall below 70%, participation in any game becomes unattainable, as all opponents will subsequently refuse to engage; in such circumstances, creating a new account may appear as the only recourse.
The elimination of Karma is imperative.

The concept of Karma is ridiculous indeed. Are the creators heard about STATISTICS and how it works? You can have 100 or 1000 good game sessions and 3 bad sessions no matter of reason and you have bad reputation.
 Karma should be counted like this: the sum of bad game sessions divide by the sum of good game sessions and multiply the quotient for 100. Congrads! Now you have percentage of bad game sessions. Then subtract the result from 100%. That's REAL karma. :!:
THAT'S INSANE that your mistake coust 10 or 20 points of Karma, but you gain just 1 Karma point for each game!

Karma is laughable for the opposite reason. Even players with numerous issues on BGA can have 100% karma with ease. Just play properly, lol. That pretty much solves the issue. You might have an occasional disconnect, but that's just a small bump compared to the insane amounts of karma available for doing something as easy as finishing a game on time. Having issues in less than 1% of your games should be the norm, that BGA allows you to fill up a mistake in a mere 20 games is laughable.

You ignore facts. How many games goes well? I mean how many games goes to the end properly? Is the goal of the BGA to make appearance of new players impossible? How the newie can play if he can't figure out how to play in new game without practice. A lot of tutorials and rules isn't so good to understand for the first game. Newie can't push the button and don't know why it's not working, and try to remember what's wrong and sometimes can't figure it out. And then the newie has bad carma and just can't play with anyone. And then BGA complain for fake accounts. Isn't stupid? Cus it's their Karma policy consequences.

Using friendly mode, turn-based mode, slow speed, or playing with people they know.

The majority of games should be properly ending, lol. It's a game, just playing it properly to the finish is pretty basic stuff. If you aren't confident in the rules nothing is stopping you from using a table setting to accommodate that, whether it be friendly mode or using a very slow timer. There are even timers that give you entire days to make a move.

Did YOU play slow tables? There's no gamers at all. How to practice than? Turn-based games is not the option to practice for newie, cus newie forget the rules for the next turn. Make live the PROs easier, make for them tumbler "just for PROs". Do you think they will use it? Nope. You will see that they don't like to loose and they will continue to play with the newie to weep and corrupt their reputation just because most of them enjoy it. Just check and if I wrong you'll have satisfied members/gamers, if I right means that you failed with Karma rating system and you need to revise it.
And there's one more thing. Some sore loosers when they start to loose use this hole. Why the option to skip because opponent is still thinking appears before the time is completely out? They use it as soon as it appears. Just immidietly. They're sitting and waiting this option. I played 20+ games to restore my reputation, and I never quit the game, but one sore looser destroy it for one click!

I've learned plenty of new games without issue. My game history is on BGA. lol at "forgetting the rules by the next turn" in turn-based, there are rulebooks, nothing is stopping you from reading them. A turn-based game is so slow you could read the entire rulebook multiple times a turn. So even if you somehow forgot everything about the game every turn, you'd still have time to check all over again. As for players taking rematches, that won't work unless both players agree they want to keep going.

As for revising the karma system, I'm open to players receiving 30%+ reductions for quitting games instead of 20%, not that I have any infleunce over the karma system. Let's face it though, having a 100% reputation on this site is laughably easy, even with the modification I just mentioned that would still be true.

The option to skip doesn't appear until someone has already timed out, by which point they normally would have already been booted automatically on a gaming site. BGA is unusual in that it gives the otherwise losing player time from waiting for the opponent to apply a timer, then even more time waiting for that to count out, and finally time before the opponent just kicks you. It sounds like there are a few sore losers from being kicked in games they lost on time and then some though.

I saw many times that the kickout button appears to me in a half time left for players, so don't pretent that it's not. I wait players everytime, but soreplayers never do. I learned rules Tok game clearly, I even don't need to read rules, but buttons in the game has glich and sometimes I had to try other buttons and reload the page to make it work. And after this actions I make the move I planned. So that is the reason of the timeout. And this is not fair that this kind of soreplayers push the button as soon as possible. You can check my statictic and you'll see that the strokes I have exactly in that games where I had the biggest chances to win. And what you're going to say now?
I see that even YOU have this issue in THIS month and who knows how many times it was months before. I guess you just forget how is that to be a newie or just lie.

Oh my, 1 issue after several hundred games, whatever shall I do. So in other words, even if I lost 100% reputation every time I went over time, I'd still easily have a 100% reputation. :D It's nice to know BGA's reputation policy is so lenient. I have an idea of how the glitch could have happened and keep an eye out for any similar issues. The issue is uncommon enough to be little more than a speed bump. It wasn't even this month, just within the last 60 days, 43 days ago, more specifically.

But unlike my 1 of glitch, which I've easily shrugged off, you didn't seem to pay any attention at all. You've had numerous chances to realize what issues could be in your way and address them but instead keep on timing out on players. Please play responsibly and stick to the rules of BGA. It takes pretty extreme behavior to get a bad reputation on BGA, but if you keep letting players kick you, that doesn't look good. I'm not interested in your silly stories about how the kickout button somehow magically appears. You do realize there are timestamps on your games, so players can see how much time you were burning on your turns, lol. If there is actual lag at a certain game, look for slower tables or play a different game. See if there's an issue in your end that might be causing things too.
