initial time when choosing corp and 10 cards

Can initial time be increased? It is not enough to go over 10 cards and think about awards, combos, choose corporation and what cards can be played with it + scenarios for late game.
p.s. new player here, maybe it will be easier after some time, but at least having that in option selectable will be nice to have.

Can confirm that many experienced players agree that having more time on corp selection would be nice. I have heard that changing the time settings may be more difficult than it seems bc they are based on game statistics bga gathers and not hard coded for specific games. Perhaps someone who actually knows can confirm if this why the current system is structured this way.

My understanding matches Thoth's: I think this has to be changed site-wide, so it's a larger scope change. There's a report here you can vote for:

I think almost every game on BGA could benefit from smaller increments and larger max bank sizes, though, so it seems like a reasonable change to make.

You can choose to play turn-based games and you will no longer worry about it.

THIS!!!! And you get to play normally during turn based if both players are present, it's the best thing ever on BGA, everyone should have a chance enjoying turn based it's a god send from BGA for board gamers everywhere. Not to mention to get to play with top players in different time zones, I can't say enough good thing about it, thank you BGA.

Feels like pretty universal agreement that this is perhaps the biggest flaw with BGA’s implementation. Starting choices are by far the most important ones to make in general, and it’s not at all uncommon to need 5 or 6 minutes to work out the math when presented with several good options and figure out which is the most optimal. Kind of silly to have such little time for what are often the most important decisions in the game.

100% agreed. Also, the SLOWEST setting on TFM still means there is always a maximum of 2:42 to make a move. That is sufficient the vast majority of the time. But once or twice a game, it might be necessary to think for 5-7 minutes. It seems odd to me to deny a player this opportunity, especially if the player is making all his other moves in 30 seconds or less.
I wish there was an extra time bank of 5 to 8 minutes to be used throughout the game. Poker websites used to have this. You could click "time extension" in a poker tournament and use up to 90 seconds of extra time. It has to be used judiciously because it would not replenish. Something similar here would be great, but my understanding is it would not work within the existing framework.
Oddly, Race for the Galaxy has a slowest setting that allows for 5 minutes per turn, in a game that usually lasts 7 turns and the entire game is often played in 5 to 8 minutes for each of the two players.
I am unsure how these numbers are arrived at.
