It’s a game we absolutely love playing as a family, and we often add the Queen Domino expansion as well.
But to be honest, the base version is still the best for introducing new players.
That said, some official variants like Middle Kingdom or Harmony in a perfect square can limit creativity a bit.
I’m not completely sure how I feel about that. I have mixed opinions.
So I wanted to share a fun little house rule with you all: the “Moated Castle” rule
If you manage to completely surround your kingdom with water (lake or sea), you get a +50 point bonus!
It’s a fun and tricky challenge to try at home with friends or family, especially if you enjoy unique building goals.
