The ingame dropdown for strategy tips has some strategies that I feel are quite poor, particularly "At 2 players, especially if you lack of silver or if you are behind in cards played, as soon as the leader token is on play, you should take it back immediately by using Diplomacy. The mobilise 2 cards look the best one early on, followed by the +1 Zenithium"
This is bad advice for a number of reasons, the leader token should be a last resort because it doesnt advance you on the board or on the tracks- the benefit it provides is small, and the additional card draw that turn is countered with the loss of a card draw when the token is returned. You can use this tournament final game as an example: https://boardgamearena.com/1/zenith?table=676432340 my opponent has 4 leader actions to my 0, and despite building up a better engine of mobilized cards my consistent endgame pressure was too much since I was farther ahead on the tech tracks than he was. An additional currency that is important to understand in Zenith beyond credits and zenithium is your turn itself- if you spend your turns doing small things that conserve credits and zenithium, you will lose to an opponent who does more with their turns, even if they aren't as efficient with zenith or credits. Taking the leader action is a trap I see a lot of lower elo players falling into (not that it should never be done, but usually as a last resort or to set up a card that looks to transfer it) and I think most players would see their winrates improve if they looked to reduce the number of leader actions they took during the game.
