Hi.
I really like this game and have been translating some cards. And because I used to do this professionally and no longer have the capacity to be casual about it, I'd like to set up a style guide here, both in case anyone else wants to reference it and in case I forget what I'm doing XD
I have decided to translate the Asleep, Anchored and Fleeting statuses as Adormit, Ancorat and Efemer respectively, and so I will be using devine ("becomes" ) rather than primește as a translation for "gains". I'm also translating "boost" as bonus. I'm not sold on this but I'd prefer not to have random English words if Romanian words exist, I'm already frustrated about having had to compromise on "tutorial".
Debating switching Efemer to Grăbit, but the former is closer stylistically to the English word.
I think translating all instances of "Target Character [verb]" as Un Personaj la alegere rather than personajul or un personaj makes it clearer at a glance that it's up to the player to pick and thus is the better choice. I also think it is the superior choice to translate "Target ${n} character(s) to ${effect_desc}" type cards as “Alege ${n} cărți cărora să le aplici următorul efect: ${effect_desc}" because it dodges all manner of grammatical weirdness that could happen otherwise.
More on this as I notice patterns and what not.
