What is your favourite opening strategy?

Broadly speaking, we usually think it's best to get one of the captains (3 level unit) to the middle of the board/trench line as soon as possible.
If one gets there fast enough, chances are that you'll be able to capture a soldier (1 level unit), a sargeant (2 level unit), and a colonel (4 level unit), getting 7 points whilst only sacrifing 3 points.
This is a huge advantage at the beginning of the game! Usually, it's smooth sailing from there on.
