general question about the Swiss system - when do all games start at the same time, when do they start one after the oth

I have a general question about the Swiss system.

I have registered for tournaments using the Swiss system a few times.

Sometimes it happens that I have to play against all other opponents at the same time. All games starts a the same time !

Sometimes I can play the games against my opponents one after the other ; which I prefer when not all games have to start at the same time.

When I register for a Swiss-system tournament, I haven't figured out how it will work yet.
What should I be aware of when registering?
Where exactly does it state whether all games will start at the same time or one after the other when announcing a tournament?

Can someone please explain this to me?

You are confusing two similar types of tournaments that have a critical difference. Round robin tournaments play all games simultaneously. At least in general. There is a way to stagger them, but almost no one tries to do that.

On the other hand, you NEVER play games simultaneously in a Swiss tournament. Swiss tournaments must wait for all games in one round to finish before the next begins because the pairs in round N+1 depend on the results of round N. If you don't like playing a zillion games simultaneously, stay away from round robins.

It says "Jeder gegen jeden," which I'm guessing is how they translated "round robin."
A Swiss tournament is called "Schweizer System."
