Not only is it generally based on the luck of turn 1... but I just tried a 3 player game:
All three of us capture every turn until the final turn. The last card is the Yahtzee (Dragon). Final player uses 1 extra card, then passes (despite having 6 cards still available to use)
So the player who happened to be chosen to go first... gets the extra turn to capture the extra card and win.
So literally the entire game on 3/4/6/7 players is decided by who goes first/second/etc if anyone at all has to/chooses to pass!?!
What's the point? I'm wondering if I have something wrong about the rules, but it doesn't look like it?
I had more army cards before the extra turn (11 to 9), and of course did after the extra turn ("winner" used 5 army cards to capture the Dragon). He just won because he captured one extra card because he was given one extra turn by a pass? Whether it was collusion, a misclick, or a misunderstanding of the rules, it's crazy one player passing gives the player a game. Why play if you go last? On the off chance you get lucky, get more army cards... and then get lucky no one else passes either on turn 1, on purpose or on accident?
Is there a way to downvote a game? Because that's truly a waste of time.
Additionally is there always 42 cards in the quest area? Because with 5/8 players, it'd literally be game lost before turn 1 starts if you happen to be going last or near it.
Honestly, the winner should be the most required dice captured (so 1-1-1 counts as three, whereas 1-1-1-2-2 counts as five?) Because that'd start to have some strategy. As it is you basically just capture the easiest card every turn... because it makes others odds slightly tougher if they're all big cards. Though if army cards don't even matter except as a tiebreaker, who cares, generally no one will run out after a couple turns. You might reroll an early turn just to try to get a better army card (reroll or +/-)/variety in your army. But after that the game is literally just a pointless series of clicks where each player always wins, and the way its setup, army cards don't even matter (even if they did, it'd just be a long game of very simple luck, just a tediously long game of Yahtzee... without the small bit of strategy Yahtzee offers). And then you lose or win based entirely upon another player passing!?! Worst game on the site. Definitely wouldn't consider buying if this is the rules. If it's supposed to at least be cards in army instead of just cards owned ever (as the bug suggestion hinted at), at least it'd be a tad playable (though still just luck with very minimal strategy).
But if those are the intended rules... leaving this bug means the owner is throwing away money by convincing us the rules are ridiculous/every game is pointless luck of who goes first/what other player passed.
