Timekeeper - how to beat him

Post by Kambaaa »

hi,
we have encountered Timekeeper and are totally destroyed by him: he is just sitting on the third spot and we are unable to hit him. Round after round he just sits there and we discard cards without effect. Is this usual or do we have some bad luck? if it is usual, then i expect we have to switch to Quartered, who may attack the whole board, right?
We play 2-p game with Flayed and Immolated

The Immolated is not very strong against bosses, I think you will want to run a different combo. There are three strong ways to take on the Timekeeper and avoid the range issue:

1. Play The Quartered and unlock the max range ability with a red scroll. This is how I've always beaten The Timekeeper solo.
2. Run The Poisoned and unlock the turn zero poison ability from maxing out red scrolls. This works ok but it isn't fast, probably not a great strategy on its own but it combined well with the other choices
3. Grind for the Phaser equipment item, which grants max range to all attacks. This is unlocked from getting the blueprint in Toxic Sewers or maybe Ramparts, I don't remember. If you have a large selection of equipment, then getting this one in a run requires some luck.

I'd consider running The Quartered with either The Flayed or The Poisoned. The Quartered is really strong and a good defensive choice once buffed with some scrolls, and the range is crucial against the boss. The Flayed can help tank, while The Poisoned can use poison to get more damage in.

Good luck!

The immolated is the weakest character in general.

Fire can be strong against weak units, but by the time you get enough scrolls and gear to reliably burn all non-boss enemies you are already so strong (and everyone else in your team is too), you may as well just kill them instantly by any other means.

We play with Quartered+Flayed and have unlocked everything... depending on our luck on getting the right equipment, we usually reduce the Timekeeper to a bloody pulp no later than turn 2, while getting about a dozen shields.
It's very satisfying :D

From what I remember, she has exactly one card that moves her to your back spot. No other card moves her.

This means you need 3 range attacks to hit her.

We've had our most success with The Poisoned and poisoning her. Sometimes double poison.

The Poisoned, The Flayed, and another.

Green scrolls to flayed, red scrolls to poison.

We've also had success trimming the poisoned deck to 6 cards, most all inflict a status/poison.
