Forced out from Can’t Stop game

Post by DashingDonnie »

I was playing an arena mode game, and the person I was playing against, abandoned the game in the middle of a series of moves after I was 30 seconds over.

I had played 49 moves in 2:57. To add insult to injury, he left me a message saying “You’re not very fast for someone named Dashing Donnie.” I had reached two peaks and was close on two others while he had zero.

I thought it was very poor sportsmanship on his part.

I don't see how it's abandonment on their part if you're the one who timed out.

What ceaseless means is they didn't "abandon" the game. Abandoning a game is when it is canceled with no penalties as if it had never been started. Abandoning must be unanimously voted on by all players who have positive time on their clock. You were expelled from the game because you ran out of time and your opponent chose that option (as they are entitled to do).

You could have responded that "dashing" refers to your stunningly good looks, not your speed. Yes, your opponent could have just taken the W without needling you. If you are ever concerned about a player's behavior, you can report it. But please exercise some discretion. The mods are overburdened as it is.

I see the game was a fast real-time game. That’s 18 seconds per turn, not per move. You making 49 moves in 3 minutes doesn’t really matter when that was only 5 turns. Your opponent kept their turns quite brief—and yeah, you got a lot further than them but you ran out of time, ultimately. Might I suggest that fast real-time, at least for Don’t Stop, may not be ideal for your playing style?
