Placing pieces near the end of timer

It seems that you should be able to place pieces up until the timer actually runs out, but I've noticed that if I try to place a piece with less than 5 seconds on the timer it says "too late" and does not allow placement. not sure if this is intentional or lag/glitch type issue

Same here what's the point of a timer then, if you can't use all the time.

Same for me. I went to the bug site and voted for the issue to be resolved, since it was reported, but does not have many votes surprisingly, since it happed to me during every game and is not really a once in a while occurance.

This exact same problem happens all the time. It's incredibly frustrating when tiles I place within the time limit get invalidated.
