Game Options - Play Piles

Post by SquashEngineer »

I just played a three-player game which had five (5) play piles throughout the gameplay. My understanding is that the base game uses only four (4) play piles, as stated in the rules.

Is there a tableoption that can be selected that sets a different number of play piles? I could not discern an option that looked like that in the games I have played. (I have not initiated a game so far - only joined)

BGA version always uses Player count + 2 piles. Fewer center stacks cause deadlocks more frequently.

I did not know that was "a thing." When we play Skip-Bo, we always play with four piles regardless of player count. I've never encountered a deadlock.
