The trouble with "round robin" for round 1 was that all games were started at ounce - and six simultaneous games were a bit challenging :) . I haven't thought about it earlier, but having seen that, maybe flat Swiss would be better.

...depending on number of participants, really - 4 players per group would have resulted in 3 simultaneous games, which would be much more manageable and way faster than Swiss (and guarantee no pairing repeats, too!)
