See the end game scoring

Post by Rainbow_Rae »

When a game is finished, I can see it is finished and whether I won or lost, but I cannot see the final game position or the final scoring. Is this a premium feature?

I can propose a new match, play new game or review game replay, but all I really want to see if the scoring after the last players move.

You don't see two tabs, one that says "Game Results" and the other that says "Final Situation"? It's the latter that you want.

If you don't see it, go to the game in your history, click View game replay, select one of the players (could be yourself, but whatever), click Advanced replay features, click the rightmost arrow button (looks kinda like this >| ), and lastly click "Go to end of game (fast)" (not "Go to end of game" unless you like waiting for all the moves to animate). There the Final Situation is displayed by default.

Now if by "see the scoring" you really want to see the end game scoring animation like in Wingspan or Carcassonne, then after you click "View game replay" in the steps above, scroll down and make a note of the last move number. Then keep following the steps above, but instead of clicking "Go to end of game (fast)," click on "Go to specific move (fast)" and enter the last move number.

Thank You,

I didn't see Final Situation, but the other method you suggested was perfect, I was able to see the scoring section at the end of the game.

You might write a bug report for that game here: https://boardgamearena.com/bugs and please make sure you are filling the form for the specific game, not the BGA general website.

As far as I know, it is a longstanding bug, not specific to any game. Sometimes the Final Situation button appears, sometimes it doesn't. I have even tested with a friend after a game, and the button might appear, then vanish soon after.

This post from Een describes what happens to the Final Situation button.

- only for turn based games
- only for players who have played the game
- only for as long has the table has not been archived, since archival garbage collects the database for this table to free space for new games (archival is triggered automatically after one day for turn-based games, or manually when someone clicks [View game replay])

Yeah, I don't believe that. I've tested with my partner where either he or I clicked game replay and we both still had the view final situation button available after that point. Additionally, we've had scenarios where he has the view final situation and I don't (for the same game). Something is definitely bugged somewhere. The first two points seem to be true, and the final one I'd believe that tables are archived after one day, but I don't believe View Game Replay affects it, and sometimes it's not available for players even when the stated conditions are not met.

Okay, thanks! Time to update my priors...

As nik952 indicated, I'm not convinced those conditions are true any longer, though it's been a couple months since I last tested it. It should be easy to test in a real-time game wtih a friend, however, and then a turn-based game.

I also just checked and in August 2025, my notes show I saw "View Final Situation" for a game I wasn't involved with, but it got removed later (maybe after one of the players viewed it). My notes also suggest I saw it for a real-time game, but it would be worth testing again.
