Has there been a change to ELO calculation when a player quits?

Post by MadLadz »

Has there been a change to the way ELO is calculated when a player quits?

In a recent game, one of my opponents randomly quit in stage 1. I quit the game afterwards rather than play out with three. The result was that I lost two ELO? I was fairly sure that if there was a quitter, you were then allowed to quit with no penalty.

It was doubly frustrating as I had a nice draft and the actions had very much fallen my way up until the quit.

The game is linked below:

If you hoover over your elo in that game it says ELO variation: 0.
It also says "You cannot lose ELO when a player quits the game".

And it calculates what would have been your ELO loss: (-0,25), (-0,26), (+0,25).
This is because the game only accounts for 14% of the game elo variation as it ended when 14% of the game had been played.
So you would have lost 0,26 points.

And yet you lost 2 points...
Ponza who was also in the game should have won 0,64 points and was handed 5 points.

My guess is that it is bugged not only in allowing for ELO loss, but also in awarding 100% of the ELO win/loss to the players.
