How to rate a BGA implementation of a game when you want to?

Post by Cos- »

At seemingly random occasions, BGA asks me to "rate this game implementation".

But how do I choose to do so for a game I've played here, when it isn't inviting me to do it? Where do I find a link or button to bring up that popup?

I don't know of any (except for alpha games).

Language is a source of misunderstanding. (Antoine de Saint-Exupery: The Little Prince) But it is also the source of understanding - it all depends on how you use it. :-)

Apparently it's not possible at all? If it were, I think someone would've known and answered.

But this pollutes the survey data, by giving it a strong bias in favor of people who like the implementation. Those who dislike it are likely to stop playing the game on BGA (or only play it rarely, only with friends, like I do with Catan because I despise the BGA implementation) - and those people won't get surveyed and won't be heard from. What's the point of a survey if you only ask the people who have positive views and leave out most of the people who have criticism?

In fairness, I do wonder if it is only shown to you after a certain number of games, so as to ensure you've spent a decent chunk of time with the implementation to rate it fairly. But as you say, if the implementation is terrible, a user is likely going to give up before they get there...

As if any rating online wouldn‘t be rigged in one or another way, either to the positive by the owner or to the negative by competitors.
In the apps of my company, we introduced a rating prompt after purchasing the premium version, nothing really wrong to that, but who would buy premium after disliking the free version. The app ratings immediately went up by 0.5 (already were high, otherwise more would be possible I guess).
And that’s still far from manipulating by buying reviews.
