Player Names for Arena

Post by Chuck Skullz »

As of last start to Arena, I can no longer see the names of players I am about to play against before the game starts. Did something change? I've tried on a different browser and its the same thing. What am I missing?

This change was announced in the 2025-10-09 Release Summary.
You now have to accept a game in Arena once the table is full. This prevents games to start without your knowledge and potential loss of Karma.
Now that you have to accept the game, seeing who you are playing against would allow you to select your opponent in Arena, which you aren't supposed to be able to do (ignoring the issue with red thumbs).

If you already knew about this change and you were able to see the opponent after it was implemented, that was a bug. See page 2 of this thread.

I thought this was specifically for games that take longer to fill and thus a player is more likely to be distracted and or miss the start of a new game by the time there's enough players to start a game.

Why did you think that?

The bell notification for games that take a long time to fill is a completely separate functionality, and it isn't limited to Arena.
