Help creating a public game

Hello,

I just purchased a premium membership. I would like to create a public game. When I try it, it gives me a red bar and tells me to first pick some friends to play with so it appears to be trying to create a private game. I have made sure that I clicked on Simple Game before trying to create the game. I've tried it with multiple different games (Puerto Rico, Terraforming Mars, Aquatica, Stone Age). I logged out and back in. I closed the browser and tried again. I tried on a different browser. No luck.

I'm sure it's something simple, but how do I go about creating a public game?

It sounds like you are trying to start the game from the Play Now tab (as one should). Change the setting that currently reads "Friends (Play with friends)" to "Manual." You could also choose "Automatic," but Manual makes it easier to see how everything is configured.
