Rant : i feel there are too many garbage games in BGA

I feel that it affects BGA quality because if the game list is filled with trash then i suggest BGA should do a clean up. Like the bottom 20 games with less than 1,000 monthly plays should get scrapped and deleted.

Do you have trouble finding the games you want to play? Do you think having a collection of only 500 games would make it easier to browse?

I personally don't care about any of those either, but perhaps someone does? And someone also put in the work to develop those games to make them available. Short of a game being too buggy to play (and even then, I think it should be kept in case another dev wants to take it on, but maybe set back to alpha status or something so that players know to avoid it for now), I don't feel like there's any reason to scrap a game off BGA. Everyone has different tastes and I wouldn't want someone else deciding to scrap a game I like because it doesn't get enough plays.

If having that many games was an impact on the server, that might be one thing, but as I understand it, active tables is where the load comes from, not games available, so if the tables aren't being created, then I don't think it matters.

Those are great games. I will cancel my subscription if they left. And so much better than Azul, Wingspan and Flip7.

What harm exactly do they do?
If you delete the bottom 10, then there is a new bottom 10. Where do you stop - a slippery slope.

Never to many games. Many players have different tastes. Mechanics they like. And is it really bothering to have so many games. Like someone else mentioned, as long as it does not affect the servers. Bring on more games.

How did you sort games by monthly plays to get that bottom10?
Maybe it would be a better indicator to check current games played, but unfortunately those useful popularity stats are not longer accessible.

Yes. Those are neither garbage, nor the bottom of the list (by number of plays). I can give you a few other games with less than 1000 total plays, in several years.

And I will prooably never play them.

But why would I want them removed?

It's not like they are in my way and prevent me to play games I like.

Rare games are one of the reasons why I like BGA so much. I love abstracts for example, but can't find anyone to play them with in real life. So I'm glad I can do it here. Your post suggests deleting a game I have played over 2000 times: Battle of Lits. At least I think that one is on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to played games as well. I would be shocked if it would be removed.

But enough talk about me. As others have asked: why doesn it bother you? There are plenty of sorting options here, so you should easily find the games you do want to play.

This might be debatable if BGA was the developer of all games on the platform, keeping everything up to date all the time: less games, more quality in each game. But as others have pointed out already, that’s just not the way BGA works.
