Layout for resources in hand and in trade rates (bread before silk)

As the prices for town and development cards on player's personal board are showing bread before silk, why is it in player's hand silk before bread?
Woudln't it be more intuitive that those match and bread come before silk in resources in hand and also in trade rates row?
So: wood, brick, bread, silk, metal, science, (energy).
