Can't you ready your own villager?

I was playing Witch and my secret identity villager (Nestling Mia) had 2 favors and 3 secrets on it. I put my action pawn on her, converted the 3 secrets to the final favor. Shouldn't I then be able to ready my own villager for my 2nd action, then perform the ritual for my third? Or is that in the rules?

I ask because I had 3 favors on her at one time, then put my action pawn on her. I expected there to be a button that said "perform ritual" but there was none. I guess you have to perform the ritual directly from the side board? (the list of possible actions next to the place where you put cards for brews and familiars).

The ready a villager action on the player board specifies: (Enemy action pawns only)
From the rules:

Note: You may never remove your own Action pawn(s) to ready a villager

It is only possible to use each villager once per turn. You have to give the hunter a chance!

When you meet the requirements to perform the ritual, a red button appears to perform the ritual. The button is at the top of the screen alongside other actions like Ready Villager. Or yes you can click it on the side board. If you want to perform the ritual, do not click on the villager, as this will perform the visit villager action, which is a different action. Click the ritual action instead.
