Character Skills

What (when?) do I click to use a character skill? I am playing Kara and can add 2 stam once per day, but can't find how to actually do so.

From what I've saw the other characters get to use that ability, not Kara. An option should appear for them at the top during their turn to use special abilities and then you can select that.
